So, while Emmy is at Camp Cabin (see previous post), Jeremiah and I have been busy celebrating our anniversary. After tonight, we’ll have celebrated it 3 nights in a row! That seems like a lot, but when the opportunity presents itself, you’ve got to take advantage of it, right?!
On Wednesday night, my parents babysat Emmy and Max, and Jeremiah and I went to a wonderful restaurant called, The St Paul Grill. We wanted to go somewhere where we could just sit, talk and take our time…this restaurant was definitely that. We started out with a drink, moved on to an appetizer, then our amazing meals, and ended it with some killer cheesecake. Even though the food was so, so good, I think my favorite part about the night was that we were able to sit back, enjoy each other’s company and have great conversation without being interrupted. It really was such a great night.
Then, Thursday was our real anniversary (4 years…woot!woot!) and so once Max went to bed we grabbed our goblets and toasted to the wonderful ride we’ve been on together so far. The goblets that we used to toast are the glasses that we used at our wedding and have toasted with them every year since.
After our lovely little toast, we did what anyone would do on their anniversary…we ordered pizza and watched Netflix. It may not sound like much of a night, but it was a night that we hadn’t had since Max was born. Usually, we end up eating an early dinner with Emmy and Max doesn’t normally go to sleep as early as he did last night. I’m pretty sure that was his anniversary gift to us. Thank you, Max. Therefore, being able to relax, watch Netflix and eat pizza with my hubby was the best way I could imagine spending our anniversary.
And now, tonight, a friend of ours is coming over to watch Max while Jeremiah and I go to the Guthrie Theater to see My Fair Lady. It’s gotten some awesome reviews and so I’m really excited to check it out!
Below are a few pictures of our anniversary celebrations, thus far.
