This past weekend was the wedding of one of my very dearest, bestest friends, Maighie. Actually, we like to think of ourselves more as sisters than as friends. 🙂 The wedding was in Portland, OR and so on Thursday morning, my family (including my mom) packed up our suitcases and flew to Portland.  It was the kiddos first time flying and being that it was on Thanksgiving Day which was suppose to be  crazy busy, my nerves got the best of me and I definitely lost some sleep over it. However, the journey couldn’t have gone smoother! The airport was quiet and the kids were angels on the flight! It was so fun to experience the flight through the eyes of Emmy.  She was so excited and in awe when we took off and left the ground. I will never forget her face of wonderment.
The weekend was a whirlwind to say the least. It was beyond wonderful to see Maighie, her family and another dear friend, Tara. Â I was literally bouncing from wedding prep/get togethers back to my family and back to wedding fun. Â It was definitely great and I wouldn’t have had it any other way, but I know I couldn’t have done it without Jeremiah and my mom. They were on kiddo duty all weekend. I’m just so very grateful that my mom was able to come with us as she really made the trip so much smoother for us. Â Plus, it was great to spend a good chunk of time with her. The kids are so very lucky to have her as their Grandma Bessie. They both love her to pieces and it fills my heart to see them with her. Â And although Jeremiah is with the kids everyday, it was nice to see him “getaway” for a bit. And Emmy took full advantage of her daddy time. She was attached to his hip the entire weekend, building forts, dancing and just being silly. How fortunate they both are to have such a strong and beautiful relationship.
As for the wedding, it was absolutely perfect. Just perfect. I tried my best to compose myself before the wedding started, but as soon as I got in front of everyone and I saw Eleanor and Miles (Maighie’s niece and nephew) walk down the aisle, I lost it, and continued to lose it as I watched Maighie and her mom walk down the aisle and then saw Peter, the groom’s reaction to Maighie. That room was overflowing with loving energy. There’s no other word to describe it, other than beautiful.
Now, instead of going on and on about the wonderful weekend, I will just let the pictures speak for themselves:

We rode on a cart at the airport and Max, on his own, grabbed onto the bar. I love his face in this picture…it’s like we were going way to fast for his comfort level. But don’t mind my giraffe neck…

Although, I’d love to be their sister…these two are actually sisters. And beautiful sisters, at that.

This is a random picture from today. I had gone to check on Emmy because she wasn’t taking a nap. Come to find out she was listening to RuPaul’s podcast! We keep an old iPhone in her room so that she can listen to classical music when she sleeps…she must’ve been tired of the classical genre.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!
xoxoxo
